What is the timeframe?
A timeframe is applicable to this reclaim. A homeowner has 12 months from the filing date to reclaim monies owed. For example, if your property transaction was the 1st of January 2020 you have until the 1st of January 2021 to claim.
When was the surcharge introduced?
The surcharge took effect from the 1st of April 2016, but it was first spoken about in the Chancellor’s 2015 Autumn statement.
